Project Overview
Aquahaulers is a mobile-first app that simplifies water tanker supply at doorsteps. Designed to solve issues of unreliable delivery, unclear pricing, and lack of trust, the app ensures customers can:
- Book tankers in seconds
- Schedule deliveries in advance
- Verify delivery with OTP
- Pay securely only after successful delivery
The Challenge
Urban residents and businesses relying on water tankers face:
- Unreliable deliveries (delays, cancellations, no-shows)
- No transparency (no updates or tracking)
- Unverified water sources (safety concerns)
- Inefficient booking (multiple calls, miscommunication)
- Cash-only payments (no receipts, no security)

Design Process
1. Research
- Interviewed 8 households & 2 business owners in Hyderabad.
- Key findings: Users wanted transparent pricing, safe delivery, and flexible scheduling.
2. User Flow
Sign Up → Select Tanker Size → Admin Assigns Price → Book & Schedule Date → Track Delivery → Verify with OTP → Pay Securely.
3. Wireframes
- Low-fidelity sketches to simplify booking and verification.
4. UI Design
- Colors: Dark Cerulean palette for freshness and trust.
- Typography: Clean sans-serif for readability.
- Visual Style: Minimal, mobile-first UI with clear action buttons.
5. Usability Testing
- Tested prototype with 5 users.
- Simplified scheduling and OTP process after feedback.
Learnings & Reflections
Designing Aquahaulers proved that trust and simplicity matter most in essential services. Features like OTP delivery confirmation and post-delivery payment directly addressed customer concerns about reliability and safety.
Aquahaulers shows how thoughtful UX can transform a stressful utility into a smooth, reliable experience.
